Michael Owen is the creator and lead artist of the Baltimore Love Project.

After living in Seattle, Cleveland and Orlando, Michael moved to Baltimore to attend Maryland Institute College of Art. Upon receiving his BFA in 2004, Michael was well on his way to a flourishing career in the fine arts, with additional experience running community art programs throughout the city. Since then, Michael has been painting all around Baltimore City and the surrounding regions, utilizing galleries as well as the streets. Michael is also working on Baltimore’s largest mural, a recent commission through a national competition, spanning both sides of a 1/4 mile underpass along Eastern Avenue. Samples of Michael’s other work can be found on his site: MichaelOwenArt.

Michael has brought on Scott Burkholder to act as BLP’s Executive Director.

Scott grew up in Minnesota and came to Baltimore to attend Johns Hopkins University.  He graduated from Hopkins with two engineering degrees.  His analytical mind and entrepreneurial spirit are put to good use doing the business side of the project.  His love for Baltimore has brewed for over 10 years.  He resides in the Fells Point neighborhood of Baltimore with his wife, Jennifer.
